Growing up, I remember Mum's Present Cupboard being like the Magic Pudding.  Seemingly self-replenishing, it could be relied upon to turn up the ideal gift, no matter the occasion, and often with minutes to spare.

When I moved to rural Australia, far from city shopping, I knew I needed my own present cupboard.  Trips to Sydney became opportunities to stock up on beautiful things.
